My glove box rattles and it's driving me crazy!

I've taken the whole box out and taken the latch and exterior skin off and reassembled everything tightly and it still rattles all the time at idle, and 50% of the time otherwise. When the box is closed, the two sides sag down from being straight with the latch which can't be helping matters......I've thought about bondoing/epoxying a piece of metal reinforcement across the front just below the latch and underneath the exterior cover to stiffen it, but wanted to know if anyone else has successfully fixed this irritating rattle?

HAHA. Granted the PT6 does a lousy job of smoothing out my engine at idle with full bolt-ons and ESP poly mounts, but there's no reason for the glove box to rattle over every single road irregularity.

Trust me, I WILL fix this somehow and I'll post up when I figure it out.

CB's are at least 16 years old now...things are going to rattle...and probably more than just your glovebox.

And for the record, the glovebox sag plagues almost all cb7s...there isn't a very good fix for it, because it has to do with the box itself sagging/warping...not the frame or rails it sits in.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

Trust me when I say I'll fix it and post up a DIY. And my opinion on the 16yo rattles is that if I eliminate each one as they come, I'll eventually fix all the trouble spots.

But as far as fixing the glove box, I have two ideas.....

          1. Epoxy a thin piece of wood (oak or similar for stiffness) to the plastic body of the box underneath the outside cover. (there's at least 1/8" - 3/16" of room between the two panels).

          2. Purchase a short section of 1/8" x 1.5" plate steel, drill holes in it and corresponding ones into the interior of the box and epoxy&rivet it in place.

          It'll work, trust me.

Because I still want to see if anyone else has actually fixed the issue or done what I'm thinking about.....and it never hurts to stir up conversation and brainstorm on good ideas to fix little issues......somebody(s) did this 100's of times before hence why we now have the awesome DIY section.

You know what you might want to check? Your passenger door panel. I thought my glove box was rattling FOREVER, because whenever I pressed on it the rattle stopped. What was happening, was when I was pushing on it, it was putting enough pressure on the door panel by the dash to stop the rattle. I stuck some 1/2" thick weather stripping inbetween the dash and door (looks a little tacky, but whatever), and that solved that rattle. It's worth investigating.

I got a rattle from my passenger side door moulding (the black strip on the outside.)
It seems a few of the nuts are loose.
