How much oil does your H22 burn between oil changes?

I've noticed my H22 burns oil, big epiphany there. But is 1-1.5 qts between oil changes in the acceptable range for these engines? I use VTEC quite a lot, prob. on every on-ramp, lets just say I use this engine for what I intended this swap for haha. But am I burning too much? or is that about normal? How much do your guys' H22s burn per oil change?

i don't know specifically about the h22, but in general, for high mileage vehicles, burning 1 quart between oil changes is usually okay, given you change it at every 3-5K miles

I would agree, but more so for engines that are revved higher frequently.

I burned about this quantity on my mild NA F22ax project (red Accord) every 5-7K miles when I revved the motor frequently. I used Mobil1 5W30. The head was reconditioned on it, but block started with 200K miles on it, in great shape for mileage. I'm sure it would burn less with refreshed block, but not my intention to rebuild it for a quick DD mild NA project.

Note: My oil did not turn dark though. It retained good color, but oil level just went down.

That is within the acceptable range. They lose a little bit of oil to the piston oil jets too.

i lose .5 litre if i keep it under 4k and drive nice. normally about 3/4 litre per 3000 -3500miles.

i just moved to royal purple sythetic otherwise it has been penzoil 5w30 conventional.

oil consumption is pretty normal on all FRM cylinder motors. Honda Tuning had a good article about this in a recent issue.

yeah i guess an extra 8 bucks a quart every 3k miles won't kill me, ok cool, thanks for your 2 cents
