I used a timing gun to set the idle and that solved my issue. It was annoying because every time I would come to a stop the car would rev up and down.
in order for it to jump to 3k, it would have to be something that would feed the engine, not exactly like a vacuum leakk or a bad sensor.
maybe like an injector staying on.

Maybe low coolant level. It will rev up and down constantly or if the system is not properly bled. Mine did it once from 1000-2500 until I filled it up.

ohm test each of them and make sure they are the same. pull the spark plugs and make sure those are consistent as well.

another question, how do i go about doing that test? do i pull the injectors or leave them in? do it while its running or off? never done this before lol
