A little help....?

Ok I have a friends CB7 here that i just changed the shift cable on (auto).

We got it all buttoned up and took it for a drive. The car will shift manually from 1st to 2nd and thats it. Thats WITH the TCU hooked up. with it unhooked I cannot manually shift it at all it just stays in first.

My first thought is the solenoids. So i get the known working solenoids off my old transmission and install them on this one. NOTHING changed.

Anyone have any insight on this? I am trying to save from having to swap trannies and dont want to swap it to have the same problems. I am trying another TCU here in a few hours (the owners bringing me his other one) to see if that changes anything.

check cable length again, what you might think is D4 might be D2.

was it working fine prior to changing the cable? if it wasnt then the problem might have never been solved.

we adjusted the cable when we put it in. we tested to make sure we were hitting every gear.

Yes it shifted fine before the cable snapped. I asked the same thing lol.

why did it snap?

it was old and bound up. I am thinking just swap the trans because he said it did shift hard before.
