I'm Stuck In First Gear

yesterday i was on the jumping on the highway and there was a eg and an se-r racing so i decided to mess with them and we all three dropped into 2nd really quick and took off. as i was throwing into 3rd i got a nasty kick back with no grinding. guys i now how to drive and no i didn't miss my gear because it went in right after that kick back. i pulled off to the side right away and nothing was wrong no smell like burn clutch or nothing broken. so i jumped back in my car and turned it back on and took off again but now it's stuck in 1st gear and i have to pull hard ass shit to go into 2nd. after i get into 2nd all the other gears work fine with no problems upshifting and down shifting till i get to 1st gear. if any one knows what this is please help driving like this is really a pain in the ass. ohh i just put in a new master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel about 6 months ago so i don't think it could be that. thanks for any info guys.

i dont know i cant call it. You said hard first could be the gearbox on that specific gear. when you changed the clutch and stuff whens the last time you changed the fluids in the gearbox. throw some synchromesh in there with some friction modifier.

if it has to do with a shifter cable, then it would be something blocking it from moving. when they break the shifter falls over. happened to me while i was sitting at a stop light once. shifter just fell over and i'm like "wtf?! "

Check your mounts one of them could have torn mainly the rear one

I Think I Blew My Tranny

everything is fine i checked cables, mounts, oil level, and even checked if the cables where loose. i took it to my mechanic that does all the work on my car that i don't have tools for or can't do. he told me it's the synchros from first gear that snapped and thats why you can't shift properly you have to pull it out to shift. he also told me it's better buying a used tranny instead of rebuilding it because it was going to cost more for the rebulit one . if that's the case does anyone know where i can get a new or used one cheap.

check your local junk yard. i would ask someone local on your local car forum to help u. a trans job is costly for labor.

hook me up with your 5th gear and 5th gear syncro ^__^ from your broken trans

I'm Confused

i took it to another mechanic today and he told me it can be my gearbox( that box looking thing in top of the tranny). i'm in berwyn,il does anyone know anyone that sells cheap tranny's around northern illinios. so i can pick one up. yea i can hook you up if its easy to take out i have only swapped tranny's b4 not actually taken them apart but i can sell you the whole tranny if you want it really cheap.

damn too bad you don't live in AZ. There are TWO perfect H22 trannies going for sale on my local forums. One guy wants 350 OBO and the other 300 OBO. Both have no grinds. Both guys desperately needing cash too b/c of no job. So you prob. coulda haggled a bit.
