    Valve Cover Ground

Whats the point in having a valve cover ground? I upgraded my wire from my alt to my motor mount and just took off the valve cover ground. My car runs fine and their was no difference in voltage with and W/O it.

Point being, whats the point in having it?

    Thanks guy's

    Anyone?

I'm great with electrical and car audio but I have no idea what a valve cover ground is for.

honda didn't put it there for no reason. i'm sure they didn't want to make the bay all clutered either with a cable that has no purpose to it.

      a ground IS a ground...

Not 100% sure if its true, But I read somewhere it was put there to remove static electricity build up which could cause interference with the sparkplug leads.

there is a small boss in the back passenger side of the f22ax valve cover that could be drilled and tapped for a "hidden" ground wire. i shaved mine off and there doesnt seem to be any use for it. there is plenty of metal there to do this.

Exactly what I did. It's circled.

Somethings not right in that pic (or its just an illusion with all the wires) - The battery (+) from the fusebox is going to the block which is a ground . . .

Also remember the rockercover is insulated by rubber all the time (gasket and washers) - hence a good reason for an earth

It's an illusion. Like I said, I'm pretty much an electrical expert but I just had no idea what the point was in a vc ground.

                          That makes sense, Sorry
As I said, the vc is insulated and could build up static electricity which would create a need for a ground.
