after you drill the hole, this is what you're trying to move.

that small black lever is what holds the door closed. when you have a hole drilled, you can manually move the lever with the screwdriver. that allows the black wheel to spin free. later.

        G . I went to eBay

and found this guy that has this part ..
        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2759.l1259

I know it says right front, and I'm assuming that it's the passenger side.
I emailed him and asked him if he could find me one for the drivers side with auto belts.

Let me know if that's what I need in the link above .. albeit for the drivers side.
It looks like the part when I compare it to your pictures in the DIY link.

        Thanks man!

As long as you drill the hole exactly where the DIY says, it's not a terribly difficult task. I had to use an air hammer because I didn't have a long enough drill bit, but once I broke the latch into pieces, all I had to do was shove on the door a bit, and it popped open.

              Good luck bro!

make sure on your latches from now on to use lithium grease like once a year. That helps the parts from sticking to each other. You just need to slather it in there and open/close the door a few times. Make sure it gets in there really well.

I hope you fix it soon! Vegas must be hot right now, same as AZ. Don't you love fixing stuff in 100+* temps?
