Radio/Clock issue.

    i had a radio/clock problem the other day... the yellow wire came loose from the connector.. every time i would plug my harness the male pin would move so i took the pin out and bent the tab back.. that could be your problem

      I removed my center console, steering column cover glove box, and dash trim today. This weekend ill removed my dashboard, and search for the tear in the wire on the harness. Ill post pics If I remember to bring my camera with me. If its not that, then I have NO clue what it could be. Ill just stick with no radio. Ive been musicless for over 3 months now, and I kinda like it.

        i couldnt last that long man i jumped my radio harness when i figured out it was just the YELLOW battery wire that wasnt getting any power so the RED ignition wire is tied into the YELLOW so the radio turns on i just lose all my settings when I shut the car off and the CD always starts from the beginning :/

          Before I tore my dash out, I'd just run a new wire from the drivers side kick panel fuse to the stereo. Make it way easier on yourself. That way your stereo will keep the memory and you wont' have to spend hours working on it

                so the memory can stay stored connect the yellow cable to the batt. if you have a system connect the yellow to that so it always has memory on. I did this on one of my cb's

                  I had a friend who did the same, and in a matter of days his battery drained completely.

                    I tried running the red wire to where the yellow wire plugs in on the plug. I DID get power, had all functionality. HOWEVER, I had no sound through my speakers. The only noise that came out of them was when power first hit, and the speakers would lightly pop.

                    My only guess is due to soemthing in the wiring of that specific radio, maybe the red wire has some function for the speakers also.

                    Regardless, Im going to do what nine_deuce recommended and run a new wire from the fuse block to the stereo. IF that doesn't work, then I guess I have a bad fuse block?

                      never happen to me. unless he did this with an amp? I only connect the yellow wire since that wire needs current to keep memory

                      did you check the wires to see if there burnt together?

                        did you check the wires to see if there burnt together?

                        Which wires are you referring too? From my observations, I didn't see any burn markings on the part of the harness visible to me.

                          the O.E.M wires . but you said you didn't see any.....I wonder if theres a relay? im guessing this is a 90 -91 CB right?

                              i had the same kind of radio/clock issue with my cb7.My battery wire(constant 12v) diden't have power so i just pulled my hazard switch and jumped a wire from it's constant wire,it was very simple.You can do the same for the clock constant wire.

                              For the speakers issue,look for some short on the speakers wiring.My radio and speakers would not even turn on because i had a bad right front speaker that shorted the hole circuit.

                              Another tip,try to secure a bigger ground wire to a good clean body part(near the console).That help because the factory unit had a tiny wire and that may not be big enought for the bigger aftermarket units.My 95 lx aftermarket radio would not light up and that wire was the culprit.

                                i fixed it!
                                today i just grabbed a wire and got under the dash looking a wire with constant power with ignition off i found a wiring harness as remains of an aftermarket alarm so i automatically check the red wire on the harness and it had constant power! so i put a wire from there to the white/yellow wire in the radio harness and walla!

                                of course i removed the alarm harness while i was down there i have no clue what wire i tapped the power from its a loom that runs up the steering column

                                this also fixed my clock since it runs of the same wire
