I've Read. No Spark, or so it seems (HELP)...

I just put fresh oil in my coupe. Trying to get it ready for school. After a quickie around the block, I let it sit for about 10 minutes. It started to kick over then just stopped. Now it trying to trun over, but it seems as if I have no spark. I took one spark plug out with the sire attach to it and crank it. I didn't see a spark at the tip of the spark plug. Then I took the wire from the ignitor/coil (the thing that had a wire running form the dizzy to it), and reomved it from the dizzy while cranking the car. Ifelt a smal current run through my hand. What's the problem? Spark plugs are old, and the wires from the previous owner are very cheap. Yes I am being cheap because all of my money is being devoted to my H.

Alright, I put my meter on my battery and it's showing ~12.6 Volts but only like ~4.50 amps. I think this may be the problem.

First, don't EVER let the current from the coil run through your body again, that's a great way to stop your heart quick.

Second, When you pulled the spark plug to check for spark, did you ground the ground strap? When the spark plug is installed, the threads ground to the engine enabling the voltage to jump across the gap on the plug. If the threads or strap on the spark plug are not grounded then you will never see spark.

The best way to check for spark is to use an actual spark tester inserted inline with the plug. The second best way is to use a timing gun clipped to that specific wire and see if current is flowing. The third best way is to just pull the wire from the plug, insert a long screwdriver all the way up into the plug wire, setup the screwdriver so one part of its shaft is within 1/8" of a good ground/engine block. If it's sparking, you'll see it jump this 1/8" gap.

        Car Will Not Start...

Alright, I've done some looking over things, and now it's time to give the run down and ask for serious help. I will need my car running so I can get everything that I need for...

        1. When I depress the clutch and turn the key, I can hear it trying to start, but it doesn't turn over. After about two three seconds of trying to crank it over the motor starts to rock back and fourth a little violently.

        2. I've put my meter on the battery and it reads 12.4 Volts and 4.3 Amps. I asked a neighbor for a jump, and no dice, still didn't turn over.

        3. I took off the dizzy and noticed that tons of oil is pouring out of the bottom of it, although no oil was actually inside of the dizzy (I took it apart).

        4. I removed the timing belt cover and made sure that the timing belt wasn't broken. It was still in tack. I only removed the top cover, but the belt was still snug around the cam pulley.

        5. The gas gauge seemed to be working when I actually was driving it, and it reads a quarter of tank. I am not sure if the guage actually works or not. If it doesn't work, then I am not sure if there is gas in it.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated, so thatI can get the things that I need to complete my...

            Three is normal.

Sounds like you're not getting gas bro.

            Try this.

Turn the key completely own but do not crank it completely over or try to start it. Have someone sit behind the car and see if they hear a whirling sound. If they don't your fuel pump went.

Main relay, could be another problem. swap out a main relay to see if the pump kicks on.

See if you are getting gas to the engine.

Get a new battery and try?

When you turn the key completely on does the gauge move? Or is it stuck at the same spot when it's off(Bad sending unit).

Does it chug when you start it? like blurp blurp off.

really sounds like you're lacking fuel to the engine.

            check fuel injectors?

GAS. Tank was on extra E. But when I removed the hose from the fuel pump, and tried to see if it was working, fuel shot out. At least I though it did.

You'll always have gas in that line. Just not enough pressure to push it to the engine. That's why it shot out at you. Always check the line in the engine for gas.

                    Take it easy.

Alright this thread went from no spark to fuel problems. Went to start it up today and it will not t turn over, AGAIN. I definately know that there's gas in it now. The only thing is now, is the fuel making it to the motor? I have two possible theories. It could be the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've read a lot about the main relay. Could be possibly. It has been sitting for about the last two or three days. I decided to start it up and take it around the block to stretch it's legs. That when no starty, start. But then it started, and again I just started it right up 5 minutes ago.
