    H22 tranny $100 4th pops out

Well I just did my h22 swap and runs great but the f series tranny really BLOWS! I've been looking for a h22 tranny and found one for 100 bucks but the only thing wrong with it is it pops out of fourth gear and won't stay you have to hold it down, now I just wanna know if it could be a synchro I could rebuild it but just want to make sure and if it is I'm thinking of buying a stage 2 clutch since I have the 11 pound flywheel

I would price a rebuild first. Unlike auto trans a manual trans rebuild can be just as hard depending on the how it is built. You usually need a press handy, actually I think thats true for all manuals. Anyways I curious to find out why it would pop out of gear as well. I have heard of this happening to a few Sprint cup cars. They hand bungie cords to hold it in gear I guess what ever works to finish. I'd see how much parts wouod be and then if you know you can't do it yourself get quoted for it. It might be more than one that works fine but it will be worth it because it was just rebuilt.

overall, you'd be spending around 450.

the seal and bearing kit will be about 250 (oem)
and you can get the synchros from gearspeed or just the 4th gear for maybe 50 bucks per...

the manuals are easy but just tedious. i have only taken one apart but to put back together im looking at least 5 hours. only one of the shafts need to be press fit, the other shaft, all the gears and synchros slide on and off.
                        I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

i don't have too much trouble with the f tranny. im swapping for an H tranny solely for the extra second or so on the quarter.
