electronic rust evader device: is it really work ?

    Hi, I have a question,
some automotive store offer me electronic rust evader to protect the body against growing rust with creating electrical static at whole body metal. is it really work & not damaging others such ecu & sensors?

    thx,
    Tino

I've never heard of anything like that, but the only real way to prevent rust from growing or forming is to cut out the area where it's forming and put new metal in there and seal it so moisture doesn't get caught in there forming rust.

yea i have never heard of such a thing neither. i would just do as rebels stated. cut the old rusty metal out and weld new metal in. that way its dont right. or if its not to bad neutrolize the rust than bondo than paint. but the riught way is to add new metal.

lol i bet that shit doesnt work man. if you want rust prevention, undercoat the underside of your car, make sure theres no bare metal, and wash your car during the winter when the roads are salty. dont waste your money on that.

I have seen those 2 or 3 times on senile(sp) old farts' cars, but they live year round in Florida(no rust). They have been around for quite some time, and my theory is that if they really worked that well, they would be much more popular up North. So Im pretty sure it was some dude sitting in his garage said hey .. wtf, i'll make this thing, convince people that it works, and make a hell of a lot of money off a box w/3 wires and 3 led's.

also hand wash the car with a hose and soap. pressure washers and the drive through car washes blow the water so hard it sticks in the seams and causes the rust.

waxing the car can also lead to rust.. if you miss some spots where the white stuff is when you are done.. if it is in seams it can lead to rust in the future. thats why i always use a polish and not as much wax, and make sure to clean it all up.

there are several good methods to get away from rust.. just bondo'ing rust will make it worse than just leaving it alone.

I saw a show on speedTV where they installed one of those types of things on a pickup. They claim it works, I mean its a cable tv show on a big name channel. But it was the first I ever heard of it. If I remember they said something like it reduces (or maybe increases) the electrolysis in the metal....sounds like bs to me though. I wouldn't buy it unless I had a good guarantee it would help. Hmmm I found the episode I was watching, check here for some detail...

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

i was also curious about this... dont all '94+ hondas have some type of device such as this? i believe they come stock and are mounted on the firewall near the intake manifold. they have flashing green and red leds no?

anyway, as for that other rust evader thing, check this out before you think about buying one: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/1996/06/rust-id.htm
