180K on engine, time to change fuel filter?

My cars feels like it lags a little when I accelerate at mid throttle, can this be a bad fuel filter? If I replace it do I need to close off the fuel line or can I just take the filter off? I dont want it to leak fuel in my garage.

Do I need to close off the fuel line or will it stop leaking after a little?

well since your car isnt on, the fuel pump isnt work, there for it wont pump out gas. Alil bit may drip out, but that is about it.

Open the gas door and take the gas cap off to relieve some pressure before taking the fuel filter off. Once you've got the new one on, put the gas cap back on. Prime before starting. Then check for leaks.

i just did my fuel filter yesterday. It was pretty hard to get those bolts off, but did eventually get it after using wd40. But then it was leaking, cause the bolts werent cranked down all the way, after that it was cool.

so what tool is used to remove the EGR plugs?

if your car feels like its lagging when you accelerate then you may have oil up in your spark plugs....i used to have a problem with oil getting up in there, i just replaced the seals, and its not bad at all...still a bit but nothing to worry about..check that out
