    Eneos motor oil

    Does anyone know anything about Eneos oil? I was at my Honda dealership earlier and saw that they're selling it. The parts guy said no one is buying it because its so expensive, so he couldn't tell me what people were saying about it.

    Is this really a good oil, or just a company that likes to try to create this premium brand image around itself? How would it compare to oils like Mobil 1, Castrol, Royal Purple, etc.?

    I'm running Eneos Proracing ASIA Fully Synthetic 5W-50 in the JDM Ody Absolute, ENEOS EcoTouring Moly 15W-30 in the CB and the EuroR has the JDM formulation of the Proracing in it.

    yes, ENEOS makes different formulations for different regions.

    I only use the OEM Idemitsu Oils or ENEOS in my high performance Hondas now

      ENeos is a good oil...Good racing oil but for daily driving I would stick to Royal Purple or Amsoil...if not MObil 1. its just not feasible to spend that much money to do your oil changes unless its a track based vehicles that doesnt get driven much. Or on the other hand if you are pissing money out the ass thats a different story also.

        It isnt that much expensive, here though. the Fully Synthetic Proracing is substantially cheaper then mobil1.

        ENEOS = 43USD for a 4 litre bottle
        Mobil1 = 53USD for a 4 litre bottle

        the synthetic blend Eneos is much cheaper, 24 USD for 4L

          I guess but performance shops mark up eneos like a mofo here...thats why I stay away from it. Don't get me wrong it is good oil...Its just not feasible unless IMO its a high performance or purebred race motor...In an f22a1 or something I dont think its worth that unless your running boost or some sort of heavy build like bisimoto.

            Well, since it is cheaper, and since the Jap guys pour ENEOS into their Hondas, why not?

            heck, ENEOS uses a blanked-out H22a in their commercial!

              Those are the kind of responses I was expecting.

              On their website though, 5w-20 is $9 a quart and 5w-30 is $7 a quart...which isn't really any more than royal purple.

              The question is, is it worth having it shipped for that price when most local stores carry royal purple...hmm

              ...but I mainly just wanted to know about the reputation of their oil as I have never heard of them. Thanks guys!

                They have a really good rep. Damn you found them cheap. Performance shops mark that up to like 11-12 dollars around here.

                      wow, $53 for mobil1? i pay $22 at walmart for 1 gallon full synthetic.. geez they must mark it up wayyyy up where youre at.. hehe.. but i have friends that swear by eneos oil.. but then again, i have friends that swear by rp, m1, amsoil, etc.. but the eneos is around the same price as rp over here.. maybe a little less depending on which perf. shop you stop by..

                        yup.

                        gotta love the tax. Petronas Syntium 5000 0W-30 is around 60 USD.

                          Cost is less than half that.

                          Eneos is suppose to be really good. I usually use Amsoil though, but that is only because I can find amsoil easier than Eneos.
