    Car is sputtering

ok well for about the last week or so my car has been sputtering really bad. So today i went out and bought spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor and its still doing it. Im thing its the fuel filter just because i ran the car until the gas light came on and thats when it started. it just putts when i first push on the gas then it seems like it goes away what could it be the o2 sensor maybe?

You're on the right track, try changing your fuel filter. It's easy to change and if clogged could cause a lack of fuel to the injectors and induce sputtering. You have a fire extinguisher, right?

(The fuel filter on my car is like 100K miles old! Definitely time to change it, but I just haven't gotten around to it.)

If changing the fuel filter doesn't stop the sputtering issue, maybe your injectors are clogged or you have an issue with the fuel pump. I believe there's a filter at the fuel pump as well, but don't quote me on it. If so, and it's clogged, that could cause the problem too.

I don't believe the 02 sensor would make the car sputter. It would decrease the efficiency of the motor if it weren't working right though.

try a thing of injector cleaner...maybe running that low on your tank of fuel got all the sediment sucked up in the fuel lines and now its cloggin the injectors. Its cheaper than a fuel filter anyways, so that'd be a good start.
