Problems after replacing clutch slave cylinder

Ok, well my slave cylinder was leaking, and I could also feel it in the way the clutch was performing. So I replaced it. Blead the system. Mutiple times. Problem is.. after driving for maybe a mile or two, the clutch starts wanting to kinda stick to the floor board, even worse than before! So I think.. maybe a little bit of air still in the system. Bleed it some more. Clutch feels great.. Go for the test drive, once again clutch starts feeling flimsy not firm anymore? Any ideas?

Did you bench bleed the slave cylinder?

Also check out this thread from '08, it will give you some ideas:

No, I did not bench bleed it. So I might have to gravity bleed it? And, yes, when replacing the slave, I think the whole system went dry. I was trying to replace all the dirty dot3. So there is an air pocket inside the master cylinder that I can't get out just by regular bleeding it?

when i replaced both my slave and master (same day) i didnt have this
bench bleeding problem what so ever,

        how often/rare is this...??

cuz i read up on bench bleeding, and usually if a clutch cyl. needs to be bench bled it will come with the new part with the lines pre-installed to be bench bled before installation, and i thought that was only for masters, not slaves...

Yeah I don't think you gotta bench bleed slave cylinders, just masters

until theres no air and the pedal is smooth,

maybe bout 5 to 10 times shuld get all the air out...

make sure u have a lil hose coming off the slave bleeder into atleast a half bottle of brake fluid as u have a second person push n hold the pedal for u, worked like a champ for me

Also check the clutch line for leaks. YOu could have a pinhole leak somewhere.

mine did the exact same thing. there was air trapped the the sc. I filled the sytem, removed the lid and used a long pry bar to manually move it back and forth to work the air through the system.
