Auto trans goes into reverse hard

I was wondering what could cause my auto transmission to cause problems when i go in to reverse sometimes.

Sometimes it happens sometimes nothing happens. I put brand new ATF inside. Sometimes I can hear a something moving when i change gears at a standstill and sometimes I don't.

          Bump

So i changed the front and rear with brand new oem mounts from Autohouse.

The two side mounts look fine as i had them supporting the weight of the engine with no front or rear mount for a good 5 hours.

It seems that the car still goes in to reverse hard (sometimes) and clunks into gear under ideal conditions (in drive).

Sounds like the clutch packs are worn.
Replace the clutch steels and linings, or get a 2nd hand box.

Does it thump into any other gears?

              ^its an automatic

I have no grinding issues. My family is the first owners and i never saw an issue with it.

Dose the exact same thing as it did with the old motor mount.

Dose the Auto DX have a 5th mount i missing?

I do have the 3k rpm shake.
I do have the steering wheel shaking also in idle/drive (Not sure if its related).

Automatics have clutches inside the trans.

Your other issues sound like a bad engine mount. Have you actually checked all the mounts?
Supporting the engine for 5 hours means nothing, Even if the side mounts were bad they would still support the engine.

I have this same issue. it's crazy my 91 SE was doing the same thing. thought it was the mounts so I changed all 4!!.....then I tried it and still the same shit. many said it was the trans.

Then my 92 EX is doing the samething .....changed the front mount and was still doing the same shit. changed the back and still the same shit. the front mount got shot since the rear was shot and killed the front one. my trans died (3rd one) so I thought about my 91 witch had (157k) and said let me get a JDM trans(witch has less) and see if it still does the same....and guess what.......its still does the same shit.....now what im thinking if it has to do that we don't use OEM rear mounts?

I never knew that could be an issue

but yeah it thumps in to gear 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd up a hill or down a hill.

I also hear a rumble sound when taking a long turn really hard/fast

I have this rattling noise to when driving around it goes away when i hit the brakes. I have to check the heat shield.

                    thanks for the help.
