Need Help with rear brake pads

Any tips on changing out the rear brake pads on our cars. I am trying to replace the ones I have in there now and the piston is so hard to turn I wonder if I need to loosen something else up to make it easier. I tried using needle nose pliers but the piston barely turns at all.I removed the e-brake cable to see if it would release any pressure(dont know if I needed to) and the thing still wouldn't budge. Help.

    Don't undo the e-brake cable.

If you look at the piston on the rear brakes, you'll see that it looks like a + sign. Get a large flathead in one hand and a good grip on the caliper on the other, and turn it clockwise while wedging the end of the large flathead in flat in the +. It'll be really hard to move at first, but as the piston compresses it will get easier and easier.

just go by the manual man. whatever the manual says u do it.
there are two little pins that hold the brake pads. u might need those.
just go to autozone and buy a drum brake kit(if u need them)
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

You can find the right tool for the job at any auto parts store. It's an aluminum block that has several pegs sticking out of it. You select the ones that match the grooves in the caliper piston and turn it with a ratchet.
        Cost is around six bucks.

I will have to get that tool. Hopefully that will make it easier to spin the piston. Thanks for the help all. I will let you all know how it goes.
