    Check Engine Light

I'm driving '93 Accord EX. So far, It still runs great!
After I finished oil change by myself today,
I found Check Engine light is turned on in 5-10 seconds after the engine is started.
The engine still can start and I can't feel anything wrong right now.

I don't have a special tool to diagnose what is causing to this light on.
Before I bring my car to the dealer,
Is there anything I can do to identify the problem?

    Any advise would be appreciated.

yea man, get urslef a metal paper clip, and open up ur passenger side door. reach under the dash, and look for a blue plug that has 4 holes in it, run a jumper wire with the ignition on, and watch how many times the check engin light blinks on the dash. one long beep equals 10 and short blink is 1

so bliiinkkkk bliiiinkkkk blip is 21
    blip blip is 2

u should be able to figure out how to jump the wire, and u mayb have to pull the carpet back a bit.
once youve done this report back to use iwth the code and well diagnose it for u.

Wow! Thanks for your quick reply
It looks like the morse code

One question for a jumper wire.
How do I put a jumper wire into a 4-hole plug?
(Is there wiring instruction in this forum?)
      Regards.

Not being a a-hole but isn't the connector on the passenger side?

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

              Guys, Thanks for your posts.
              I found the plug finally!!!
It was on the PASSENGER side.

Anyway, I put a jumper and turn the ignition switch.
However Check Engine Light wasn't turned on
I suppose maybe the engine is cold now.
I drive tomorrow and report the code here if I got it.
              Have a good night

I don't mean to complicate but do you mean the CEL didn't come on when you tested it? Meaning like, no codes? I was thinking...didn't the newer accords (like, not my 90) turn on the CEL to remind you to change the oil? Maybe I'm just crazy, let us know tomorrow when you recheck it.

yea.... you're crazy. the cel never did that. hahahaha! there was a color changing indicator on the factory tach and that's about it.
O'skool fo sho! You might hate, but I been doin' this long before you know.

Hi, I got the code 41.
(Primary Heated O2 Sensor Heated Circiut)
Check Engine Light was on after 20 minutes driving.
Yesterday, I changed oil day time and got the light on.
But I didn't see it at night when checked.

I'm new in this forum and it's not easy to search here...
(This search engine doesn't like a short word like 41, O2.)
I would appreciate if someone helped or pointed me how to attack this code.

I also found the link to locate the blue connector to read ECL code without a tester here.

                    (Sorry for my duplicated post...)
                    Thanks.

here is how to check it.
                      http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelpk...owTo_Codes.htm

now code 41 is the o2 sensor that is located on the exaust pipe. since urs its a ex model then u got to go under the car. check he exaust pipe underneath the engine. there u gona see the sensor sticking up of the exaust pipe. then follow th wieres and check if the conector is disconected. lol if not then u got to replace it.
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

                          Hi,
I'm looking for the manual shown in the FAQ area.
However I can't find the exact diagnotic procedure for my '93 EX model.
Can someone send me a pointer?
(anyway, I'll reset my ECU today.)
                          Thanks.

This is my last update to my problem.

I found most ECU code diagnostics in the emission control section of the manual.
The oxygen sensor is located on the exhaust pipe under the oil filter.
(I suppose I didn't do anything wrong during my oil&filter change...)
I found one of the wires is almost broken.
So got a Bosch new sensor at AutoZone with a rental sensor wrench and got replaced.
Now my car is back to normal.
                              Guys, Thanks for your help.
