I swear by Castrol. Syntec is all I use in the Prelude and my girlfriends Jetta. It's also what Honda/Acura recomends.

i want to put royal purp in mines but i always just get the free high mile syn from the dealer when my cousin does the oil change, having a relative that works at a honda dealer is the best

to tell you the truth, I havn't noticed a diff. between Mobil 1 full synthetic, Royal Purple Synthetic, or Quaker Horse Power (currently running now) So idk, as long as you go w/ a name brand I'm sure nothing bad will happen to your engine. Just keep it in the 5w30 or 10w30 viscosities and change it regularly, thats all you need to focus on.

Ive always ran reg castrol in the accord. Recently switch to 5-30 Castrol Syntec and I love it.

however toyota switched to castrol after using penzoil and after the sludge motor. conv. oil.

Castrol syntec is good, I've only seen bearing tests for the synthetics and valvoline synthetic kicked ass. Again...ONLY bearing tests...not sure how conclusive those are (not done at operating temp as one member here pointed out)

you are wasting your money with conventional oil...

conv oil change every 5k AND filter
synth change every 15k (filter every 5K) you WILL save money with synthetic and be better protected

i believe there is some test i saw on youtube with royal purp and some other shit, it was simulatiing a piston moving in the engine, showing how it grinds the metal n shit, anyway so it showed that royal purp actually fixed the metal that was destroyed and prevented it from being damaged as much dry with no oil, i believe this is the vid

Even the regular oil. To me, I've never had an issue with it, so it must be decent. Thats just my personal opinion though. I have no real proven scientific shit other than that. So take it as you will.

That said, lately I put in whatever is on sale. But I do have a preference for Castrol.
