cone on stock intake

Hey guys I just picked up a K&N filter . Is there a secret to putting it on the stock tubing? I have seen pics but need to know if there is a special way or does iit just slip on?

need to use some sort of adapter, but the holes on stock intake piping and the k/n filter are the same size.

Use a half pint paint can or a 3" soup can or any other sort of adapter.
