    ESP F-series engine mounts.

Hi guys. I finally got my ESP(Explicit Speed Performance) engine mounts for the F-series motors and I wanted to share.

I have to give it up for the guys at ESP there customer service can't be beat. Just drop them a email and they will get back with you in a matter of a hour or two.http://www.explicitspeedperformance.net/

The mounts are really heavy duty. The wields are really clean, the powder coat is nicely done, and they are just damn sexy to look at. Here are a couple of pics of the mounts.

If you have an EX you will need to get a rear engine mount bracket off a LX/DX 5-speed. Here is a pic of the difference. The EX bracket on the left is a good bit taller.

Here are a few pics of what they look like installed. I planned on doing a how to, but i got a little aggravated and I didn't take enough pics.

    OEM rear engine mount

The EX rear engine mount has 4 bolts. I was able to get to 3 of the rear bolts up top with a lot of extensions and universals, and one from underneath. You can take the rear engine mount out without taking off the intake manifold, but just be ready for a fight....it doesn't come out willingly.

    OEM Drivers side engine mount

    ESP drivers side engine mount

This one was the easiest IMO.

Overall it took me roughly 5 hours to do the whole thing by myself with hand tools. 3 hours for the rear, 1.5 hours for the transmission mount, and 1/2 hour for the drivers side mount.

The mounts are awesome, especially compared to the worn and broken mounts I had. I do have a good bit of vibration, but part of this is because my balance shafts are off by a tooth or two. I have had more of a vibration since a friend of mine did the timing belt a couple of months ago, it just didn't bother me until now. I think i might just take the balance shaft belt off and see how it is.

Anyway I highly recommend these to anyone who has been looking for a high performance alternative to oem engine mounts.

wow I want to do that now. Is it hard to do?

did you put any jack underneath the engine?

you're feeling vibrations because the mounts are stiffer. The oem mounts absorbed those vibrations by being a little more softer.

          nice purchase though!

            i recommend an engine hoist.

pretty easy really, or at least straight forward.
for the rear you can remove the tb and reach the bolt under it, then get a really long extension for the one to the right of the intake mani.

            the hoist definetly helped!

If you use PayPal you have to pay the 3% PayPal fee. So the final price was something like $284 Shipped.

Yep. Just drop them an e-mail and tell them the model you have(EX,LX,DX) and what motor you have(F22 or H22) and they will set you up. They can even do Automatic to 5-speed swap mounts. Talk to John he knows his stuff.

I'm not going to lie, it was a PITA to do by yourself, having a friend to help would make things a lot easier. You just have to take your time and try not to get aggravated. The rear mount is the one I had the most problems with since I didn't take off the IM.

I did use a jack under the car, just remember to put a block of wood in between the motor and the jack. You don't want to dent your oil pan. A engine hoist is a better choice if you have one you can use.

Air tools would help. Unfortunately I don't have a compressor so i had to do things back yard mechanic style.

I knew they would vibrate some, I was expecting that, but I noticed a vibration with my old mounts after we did my timing and balance shaft belts. The vibration is just magnified the stiffer mounts.

I think i am just going to take off the balance shaft belt and go form there. I think miss aligned balance shafts would worse than no balance shafts at all, what do you think???

this will no stop the heavy vibration?

my car vibrate heavily when i'm at the light. I know my rear mount is broken for a while now.

would the vibration be more or less if i replace my mount?

Since these are solid polyurethane mounts they will vibrate more than a factory mount.

If your car is vibrating that much there might be another problem. My side mounts were worn but not broken and my rear mount was in two pieces and I did not have any vibration at idle. It was just really jerky while accelerating or gearing down.
