    very annoying rattling sound

just a question for the cb7 folk, i have a very annoying ringing rattling sound from the front end of the vehicle....im leaning towards the heat shield thats on my downpipe, or either the heatshields between my floorboards and the cat and the resonator

has anyone else had this sound..what did you do to fix it?

its prob. your cat converter heat shield. one of the bolts may have come loose and is now rattling.

throw away all the heat shields, worthless pieces of shiznit.

                  IMHO.

yeah it was my heatshield When I did my engine swap, i didn't tighten the 4 10mm cat converter heatshild bolts enough...I think i just put them on handtight...thinking to do it later and over time it rattled itself out i guess. It used to only do it from 20-25mph, but once i tightened it, it went away.

Its most likely something relating to your exhaust system causing that issue.

if you hear it at certain RPM's only, and it's not the heatshield... check the bracket that connects the header downpipe to the engine block. i had a rattle at 2,500 RPM constantly and i had no heatshields on the car at all. when i had the car up on a lift, i noticed the bracket was broken in half, and after removing it, the rattle was gone
