    is my automatic transmission slipping?

Fluid was changed like 15k miles ago. 202k miles on transmission.
so whenever im on the freeway going at 55-70 mph, my rpm will occasionally surge up like 200-400 rpm, as if i stepped on the gas really hard, but my foot is steady on the pedal and it will keep doing it until i let off.

More than likely the lockup solenoids are going bad. Its the 2 cylinder type solenoids on the front of the transmission.

Or it could be your torque converter going bad. That usually locks up and lowers the rpms by 200-300
