oil outside the engine...bad seals
oil inside the combustion chamber...bad rings
You need to take off your valve cover and replace the seals at the top of the spark plug tubes.
There are ALSO orings at the BOTTOM of the spark plug tubes but you will have to get into the head a little more to get to those.
that is what you need
FELPRO part#VS50365R
The bottom ones you see are the top seals, next are the orings, then the grommets for the 10mm VC nuts
when taking off those lil' 10mm nuts that hold the VC on, make sure your INCH POUND torque wrench is accurate...those seem to be WAY easy to snap.____

The O-rings on the bottom are most likely what's leaking. The top seals do go bad, but the bottom ones experience a lot more heat and probably fail more often I would assume.
To fix this problem you'd have to remove your VC, then remove the rocker-arm assembly, making sure cyl 1 is set at TDC. There's also a sequence of removing those screws you have to follow in order not to warp anything. Took me about 3 hrs my first time ever doing it on my F22. So it takes a bit of time to do it correctly. I think I also adjusted my valves after I reinstalled the rocker arm assembly b/c I was paranoid I screwed something up, but that's not necessarily needed I found out later on. Oh and btw, if the rocker arm O-rings are all you need, don't waste your money on buying an entire Felpro kit. These are only like 3-4 bucks a pop at Honda and they're OEM quality rubber, they'll last.
I dug these pics up from when I did mine, so you'll get a better idea of what you're in for:
Here's some pics I took when I did the replacement of the Rocker-arm O-rings:
old petrified O-rings that didn't seal for shit
new O-rings, much softer rubberLast edited by Losiracer2; 12-17-2009, 07:33 AM.

Another quick question about this, does the rocker arm assembly come out as a whole unit and go back on as a whole unit without any adjusting to do?We are all ricers, it just depends what flavor rice you are.
