Having a lil problem with idle/oil pressure

I've had this for a lil while, the idle has been throwing me off, but it's never been so bad that it caused problems with the oil pressure.

a closer look at the tach

lol idk how to imbed the video

If you watch the clip, you'll see it starts fine, then the idle goes to like 800rpm, then to 500, once i pump the brake pedal (abs) it jumps n drops crazy.

I've cleaned the iac valve and others on the intake manifold and it has not changed anything. The car has been idling somewhat low since i installed the street flywheel, the timings fine, and no problems otherwise. Using Mobil 1 10w-30 oil.

Another thing is, when the idle settles just around 500 rpm, it moves slightly for about 10-20 rpm all the time.

    Any help is appreciated

That is weird, my idle rises when I pump the brakes( non-working ABS)

I think you have a bad IACV, or you just need to raise your idle just a little bit.

well when i try to do it unplugging iac valve connector to adjust the throttle the rpm drops to 100 n i turned the white idle screw n it doesnt do anything, lol wtf

Lilb is having the same exact problem as you. Idling really low and the oil light comes on. Maybe yall can get together and come down with a solution. I might throw him an H22 iacv to see if that helps your problem if it will fit.

Sounds like your base idle speed is too low (at 100rpm), it needs to be more like 700rpm ('base idle' is the idle speed with the IACV not functioning).

Turning the idle screw "in" (i.e. clockwise) will lower the idle speed, but it may be that the idle port is blocked with grunge so the adjustment has little or no affect(?). Try turning it anti-clockwise and the idle should increase.

If not then I may be right about the idle port being blocked, so with the IACV disconnected all your idle air is coming from 'leakage' around the circumference of the throttle plate (which never closes 100%). With the IACV in operation then most of the idle air flow might be passing through the IACV, which shouldn't be the case.

The IACV should only have to provide a relatively small amount of additional airflow to account for idle drop due to auxilliary loads (i.e. AC, PS, electrical loads).

The idle port begins in front of the throttle plate (one of the two holes there, can't recall which offhand). The other hole is the start of the IACV port. Try cleaning the throttle body thoroughly.

          John.

The very low idle oil pressure is most probably a product of the very low idle speed, and doesn't necessarily mean there is any problem with the lubrication system or engine wear.

            Don't panic...

I have the same problem. Its getting worse now thought, it use to idle fine when it was cold and go down while it was warmed up, it dont do that now, it stays hight now. When I drive about 20 minutes on the freeway and get off the exit and slow down the idle go so low the oil light comes on, now it stalls on me and I'm still going 30+ mph! I need to figure out something quick cause its been like this for over a year and getting worse.

there's no such thing as 100, the first tick mark above the large one is 600 which is perfect (when you unplug IACV that is.)

i got the same thing, cold idles fine, 20 mins of driving n it starts messing up, i got another 90 accord lx, so when it stops raining i'll swap the iac n idle screw
seems to be a somewhat of a common problem, tho cleaning the tb is always a good idea, does carb cleaner work just spraying it in the tb?

well i figured it out pretty easy, since i had another accord laying around, i swapped out the iac, and now it runs fine, still getting that annoying 2k hesitation, even mild, the blown boner is shot n it multiplies the effect, lol (its fucked, cuz i replaced it with a new one and put in the fucking inserts from energy suspension and it went bad in about the same time the boner by itself would go)
Anyway, even though more fixing is in the future i finally got alldata to work, windows xp has been giving me problems with its security pax so im back online with it on windows 2000, im still working out sum bugs but for now its running great
