Yeah I think harmonic frequencies have to do more with header design than intakes. i know that INJEN makes fun of AEM's new intake calling it a marketing ploy.

I got my aem cai off ebay for $150 ($175 after shipping), and I'm quite pleased with it. I figure they know what they're doing since they're a big company. You don't make money if you don't make a good product. I'd sooner pay some more bling than wind up with some piece of junk plastic intake or something that will fsck my engine. I trust a company that is trusted by others. They have been reviewed positively by many different car magazines and etc. It may not produce significant gains over it's competetors, but you can have confidence in their products.*No I'm not being payed by aem to say this, I just have no reason to knock them*
on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

i say,,go with something you can trust. And the sound....all depends on the car. I got a friend with a cheap ass ebay intake on his 92 civic hatchback.....MAHN, sounds deep as hell. Like a muffler. I was like mahnnnnnnnnnnn, Whyd i buy an aem? But I later found out it depends on the car (under the hood)

I went cheap. a hollow metal pipe is a hollow metal pipe.. it had all of the holes for the vacuum lines and all. I did put a k&n filter on as opposed to the cheap ass thing that the intake came with. it sounds nice and i have about 125 bucks more in my pocket then if i had bought an aem intake off of ebay. I dont think it makes a difference.

accually, after talking with the owner of a shop here in town.. he is a liscensed dealer or aem products.. he says that the only real differences in aem cold air vrs ebay is that aem comes carb exempt, which is important in some states who have police that will stop you and make u pop the hood, and it comes with a k&n filter.. so what u are buying is the carb sticker and a k&n filter... what you can do to get the same hp rating, is buy a ebay cold air.. and get rid of the filter that it comes with and throw a k&n filter on it.. He told me unless the ebay pipe is smaller in diameter then the aem, there will be ABSOLUTLY no diff..
