Egr still killing me

I first got a number 12 code 3 weeks ago. I replaced my EGR with a new one.

I have been good for the past 3 weeks, over the course of three weeks i have:

1.Replaced mounts
2.Replaced cooling system hoses.

Now my check engine light comes up again with a number 12 code. I don't think my egr is bad because it has worked fine for 3 weeks.

Info: i have a short ram form injen, that is the only after market. Could this intake be making my system run to lean? therefore clogging my egr and ruining it?

your egr ports may possibly be clogged. use a vacuum gauge and apply vacuum to your egr valve with your car on idle, if it stalls and dies, then your ports are ok. if it doesn't stall and die, then your ports are clogged.

i applyed vacume and it died and stalled.

have you checked if it is getting voltage to the egr valve?

me and f22hb had the same problem.. Replaced the egr's and cleaned the ports, checked the wires, reset ecu.. and still got code 12. I just learned to live with it.

you could still have a port clogged. i had one a year or two ago that wouldn't pass emmissions testing (aircare) and it would stall when vaccum was applied to the egr. there was two ports plugged and it would fail Nox.

don't know if you got the same problem but hope this is helpful.

im just not sure if ill pass smoge next year, this is real recent.

does anyone have a picture of a port so i can know what to unclog.

I'm going to try this out, hopefully it works.

No problem. I just got my H23 manifold and I plan to do this very job sometime during the week. Only thing is that my ports are welded over! I plan on milling it all to be flat and install removable plugs (set screws).

Mine's doing the same thing. It stalled/died upon vacuum, but it still throws a CEL. I havent replaced the valve, but i have a feeling the CEL wont go away, and i dont wanna learn to live with it, so...

Any news/updates?
