    leaky exhaust

    would a leaky exhaust cause reduced fuel economy?
    i know i should get this fixed asap, just wanted to know if theres any bad things that would happen to my car such as loss of perfoamance, bad fuel economy ect.

    it shouldnt hurt you too bad if it hurts you at all.. it might even make it a little bit better, depending on the size of the holes.

    Just go to pep-boys and get an exaust wrap.. it's just a piece of metal and some glue.. you put the glue on, wrap up the exaust where the hole is and presto, no more exaust leak... i had to use it for about 2 weeks while i was waiting for my exaust to get shipped..

      My leaky exhaust made my throat burn, but I like the smell of exhaust, I can smell how my mixture is doing. The only thing leaks change is backpressure, but if it's after a catalytic converter or a resonator, then there is little backpressure lost. However, if it's before those components, it's gonna make ya lose a little lower end power I tink.

        I have another hole in my exhaust after getting a new cat welded in, the sound is annoying more then anything. Sounds like a fly buzzin. I found out, the new hole is not related to the cat weld work, it's another hole in a different section of the exhaust. Basically, I need new cat-back piping....bleh, more money I have to spend.
