solved a squirrely battery light issue?

so yesterday on the way home from school, my battery light comes on. now, i replaced the battery earlier this summer, so i figure maybe it's not getting charged enough through the alternator. i make it home fine with no problems, which was about a 30 mile trip. as i drive, the light goes off, then on, then off, etc. but mostly on. i get home, shut it down and wait 30 minutes. go outside to crank it over, and there's no problems, it started right up nice and strong. i go to load test the battery just to start diagnosis, battery comes up fine. check the charging system, no problems there. check all my connections, everything looked good

here's where it gets kind of squirrely.

i notice my coolant reserve bottle was at MIN. so i fill it to MAX. start the car back up, and the battery light goes off. drive around for a bit, no sign of the light coming back on. then i start it up this morning at 7AM and it starts strong, and no battery light.

can anyone explain how, if even possible, the low coolant level in the bottle may be related to a battery light on issue? the radiator was full, just the bottle was low

You're grasping at thin air right now. Sometimes the voltage regulators fail intermittently resulting in a flashing battery light or it coming on and off. Other times the diodes inside the alternator could be failing. Either way, replace it and move on.
Finally Up and Running. Numbers to Follow. Check my MR

i figure it wasn't related, but it was just something that happened.

anyways, i started the car after class today and the light came on again until the engine warmed up. i'll be replacing the alternator very soon.

Not sure, when I ask for it at napa, they look at me like I was crazy. Go around and ask, I had to buy mine from online store.
