    guys- need a favor...

my roomate is looking into purchasing a 92 civic hatch that has the suspention, brakes, and drivetrain of a 98 gsr. the kid is selling it bc the rear strut mounts are rotted and the shell is no good

i was wondering if any of you guys who frequent honda-tech or any other sites (this is the only honda site i visit regularly) could find me a write up on installing brakes and suspention from a 98 gsr into a 99 honda civic ex

he is paying someone to do the drivetrain swap, but wants to try to tackle the suspention/brakes set-up himself this spring (it'll be fine through the winter with small brakes/rear drums) it doesnt seem that hard... right?

    thanks!

yes, but he has a valid question and request.

i'm not part of honda-tech or any civic related sites so i'm no help here but i'll say this,
he might be better off having the drivetrain installer do the rest of the swap too.

i'm pretty sure it's a straightforward swap. You should be able to swap the entire rear trailing arm over to the civic, double check that it's the same length first. Use the e brake cables from the gsr setup, or else buy civic si cables. Front brakes i think are just bolt on like doing the prelude front brake upgrade on an accord. I don't know for sure about the suspension compatibility from a 92 body style civic to a 99, but I think 92-2000 are the same. You'd have to reasearch that one.

there is a slight difference between the 95-96 civic. The 2001 integras are more compatible with the 92 civics than they are with the 2000 civics suspension wise do to the difference.
