ok...my 92 EX auto TCU is done ( stick a fork in it )

so...I got a 94 EX TCU..but I was wondering ...if it would work ( No, I haven't put it in yet..

I have been searching and searching..and I can't find ANYTHING on if the OBD1 94-95 TCU is compatible with the 92-93 auto trans.

can anyone tell me if this TCU will work.

No, Im not too savy when it comes to these automatic components....Im a 5spd guy.

Hey if you got it just plug it in and take it for a spin, if it won't work you'll know real quick.

I'll do that tomorrow...when I replace the main fuel relay.

but before I do...I want to save myself the hassle and find out from anyone on here that has tested and ran a 5th gen TCU. I want to know if it will work. BEFORE I start to pull the old TCU out.

I have already done the reset thing...I have done a trick ( get up to 50mph..put it D3...shut it off..but keep the key in....then...turn the key to on when it gets to 1800 RPM...then put it in N...and start it back up..and put it back in D3 ...needless to say..that didn't work. )

      D4 is still lit up.

                UPDATE:

put the 94 EX TCU in...and its working ...it shifts correctly..however D4 blinks constantly.

I will pull the codes later. and update this.

but so you all know.....a 94 EX TCU will work in a 92-93 EX auto...

that being said...I have no clue about the reversal.. ( 92-93 TCU into a 94-95 ) ...I wouldn't try it.

                ^ but yeah...it works in a 92-93 ( shifting wise )

I wonder....being its a F22B1 VTEC TCU...I wonder if thats why its blinking because its a non vtec auto transmission.

I dunno...I will pull codes and figure this out.

YAY for the returnability of my shifting.

NAY for D4 light blinking :'

                UPDATE: pulled the code....1 long blink...3 quick ones. ( code 13 )

                what is that?

                UPDATE: after searching...and searching..asking a few veteran CB7 members...came up with nothing...

however...I looked up the codes on a site I found.. http://techauto.awardspace.com/trans...html#Solutions

Code 13: Main shaft speed pulse generator...90-93 autos don't have those..meaning..the TCU is looking for a sensor thats not equipped onto the 92-93 transmission.

meaning..I will have to deal with the D4 light blinking.

^ its looking for something that not there.

I will test the car out further....and bring more updates to this matter.

                stay tuned!
