    Interesting (clutch related?) noises...

I just got my friends car together yesterday (new cylinder head, blah blah), and I noticed something that is rather interesting. When the clutch is out (fully engaged) in neutral, there is an odd "ffffft, ffffft, fffft" sound, like two pieces of plastic rubbing together. However, as soon as I push in the clutch, it goes away. Also, the clutch will not engage until the very last 1" or so of the pedals travel. Any ideas on the sound/high clutch engagement point?

Sounds like a bad throwout bearing.

        Lord, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to hide the bodies
of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.
