everything in that box is emmissions related other than the map sensor. I dont suggest removing it because you will not pass emmissions/smog without it operating.

The black box keep it but i'm pretty sure you don't "need" the charcol canister. You only need if you have to pass emissions. Which some states you don't with our cars.(sry didn't read the year) Opps nevermind you need both of those you have a 97. You will probaly won't pass emission if you take it out.

          Don't have emissions here.
You can still pass the if your car is running well. You don't technically need the charcoal system (I can't use it with my aftermarket throttle body), the EGR, the FITV, the Air Boost valve, or the stupid vacuum box mounted on the transmission mount bracket.

You can experiment without disassembling too much, just pull the vac lines for the part and disconnect it. plug the hose and seal the nipple on the intake manifold with a vacuum cap or temporarily with some electrical tape.

I'm planning to do a wire tuck and want to really clean up the engine that's why i'm asking if i can remove those plus want to mount an cone air filter directly on the throttle body.
