    H22?

I am almost ready to get my H22 in. Although I have a delima, when I first got the motor I noticed there was a bit of oil on one of the exhaust valves. But I didnt think anything of it. Come christmas I plan on taking the motor out and doing a few other things, would it be ok to just wait tell then to replace them? And I would need to resurface the head correct and get new head studs as well right? Would I need to resurgace the block or could I get away with just the head.

Also I noticed really thick carbon build up on the exhaust ports. I still havent gotten it all off. It is like an 1/8 of an inch thick. Is this normal, if not what might it be?

what id do is get a flat wooden block and use that to sand the deck of the h22.

new bolts/studs and a resurface is recommended but isnt necessary if you are on a budget.

the oil on the exhaust valve may mean a guide or seal so yes, id defitnitely get it checked out. does that one have really heavy carbon buildup?

bring each piston to TDC and pour some seafoam in the dish...let it sit and scrub away with steel wool or scotch brite.
