    my tranny issues. autotragic!

Ok so I noticed while driving to work that my transmission (auto) would slip. im going down the highway doing about 65-70 and about 3k rpm when i noticed it bog down for a split second. it drops like 500 rpm then goes right back up to 3000 rpm where it normally is. it even does this in cruise control (i wanted to make sure it wasnt my driving). so is this or has this happened to anyone. im open to suggestions. the tranny has only 120k on the car. imma try and drop and fill the fluid and start there. it seems to me like it slipping but recovers fast. im thinking either fluid change 1st then looking at shift solenoids. there are no CEL lights, no battery lights, no sport lights indicating codes. it also intermittent and not so frequent. just seems odd to me. maybe its been doing it but i just noticed now.

thanks for your help in advance

If you were slipping it would do the opposite, the RPMs would shoot up, not bog down.
    wat?

Sounds like your torque converter is locking/unlocking.

In my experience torque converter stalling is not intermittent. Start with the solenoids. I'm not totally convinced this a transaxle problem either. Any more specifics?

thats what happend when my torque converter went out. Normally its supposed to lock and reduce the RPMs by like 300 or so after you reach a set speed.

            I have good news.

The fluid change I did yesterday seems to have done the trick. I drove it today for like 60 miles and no skipping or rpm dropping. When I drained the fluid I got 6 or 7 quarter size chunks of sludge. i topped it off with 2.5 quarts of mobil-1 atf and it shifted grandly. im still thinking of taking off the solenoids and cleaning them or just replacing them as they look rusty as shit. and also cleaning the transmission ground and replacing the negative battery cable.

            thanks for the inputs.

mines been doin it too. used to stay locked crusing over 60, but recently, tc locks and unlocks intermittently. thanks for the heads up. I thought it was just my driving too. but since you say so... yeah
