header heat shield ?

    header heat shield ?

    has anyone here taken off their heat shield off their headers kuz i wanna do this and wanted to know what tools should i need and use and any tips while i'm attempting this

    Regular sockets will do the job. Just wondering, but why are you taking it off?

      & alot of w40. lol & if its an LX then youll need the o2 sensor socket

        If you're going to run without a heat shield I would suggest heat wraping your headers and doing that mod where the back of the hood is partially open.

        The headers get pretty hot and that can cause damage to your paint.

          your ac lines might heat up too

            took mine off, one bolt was so rusted that it broke while i was unscrewing it. easy to access the bolts though.

              yeah except when i tried this i could figure out how to get the o2 sensor off i was gunna unplugg it then loosen it by hand but the plug wouldnt unplug it must be kuz its a virgin lmao

                yes its an lx but as i just said the plug wouldnt come off so there for no socket got used today

                        Mines an lx and i just unpluged the sensor and ran it through the whole i believe cuz i know i didnt take it off

                          x2...you dont need to take off the O2 sensor, just unplug it from the connector and manuver the heat shied out

                              Its not dumb, I don't run one either, but its just nice to leave on there. Lower engine/enginebay temps are always good.
