    coupe passenger window problem

Last weekend at Import Face Off, I rolled up the windows for my first pass, and at the end of the 1/4 mile, the passenger window wouldn't roll down. (I tell you this in case running it down the track could have anything to do with it.)

I've checked the fuse, swapped the relay, been to the JY and got the only cb7 coupe passenger motor there. I've had my meter on the switch, and it shows +12v one direction and -12v the other direction, but there's no noise or anything from the motor when it's connected. It doesn't make a difference if I use the drivers switch or the passenger switch. On the one hand, luckily, the window is up, on the other hand, I don't have the AC fixed yet, so it gets a little warm if I drive her anywhere.

Please, someone tell me there's a simple, easy to get to connection I'm missing somewhere that's letting enough voltage pass, but not enough amperage.

Never mind. I'm mentally challenged, I did a search and after fifteen pages I came across the answer in a post from years ago.

I didn't even think about the coupe having the switch to turn the passenger window off. I apparently had bumped it when I rolled them up.

I thought about it, but it someday someone else might have a brain damaged moment and this might save him from sifting through 20 pages of a search for "window problem"... Besides, I'm not afraid of a little well deserved embarrassment.
There were at least four of us at the meet trying to figure it out and NONE of us thought about the window lock, because it's a coupe. I don't have power windows in the back and there aren't ever kids in the front seat, so I've never used the stupid lock. It also threw me because when I hooked my Fluke meter up to check for power from the switch, it showed 12v one way and -12v the other.
Thinking back on it now, I remember hitting something that wasn't the window switches when I reached to put them down, but at the time I just readjusted for the switches.

            I've done it, lol.

My friend was driving, and I went to roll it up and it wouldn't go, and I was all like "WTF you broke my window douche" (I was 16 at the time, please excuse the retarded thought process).

oh, well i was just gonna say delete it b/c you went through ALL that trouble, even going to the JY. When all it was was that switch lol. To me, that's pretty funny. Like point your finger and laugh funny.

I use that switch all the time when I want the windows down and the pass. doesn't lol. So she can't do anything about it lol.

But I can't believe that you didn't see that RIGHT next to the switches lol. To me that just cracks me up.

It's point your finger and laugh funny to me too. As soon as I saw that other post about the window lock; I KNEW. I jumped up, grabbed my keys and ran outside with the baby, telling him how retarded his daddy is. I'm not usually that unobservant, and if the punishment is some laughter, that's cool. I bet I never forget about it again.

this is close to the time that a lady brought her subaru into the shop complaining of no interior lights.

turned up the dimmer knob. everything was perfect.

she insisted that we not tell her husband.

i insist that you never set the child locks.
