Replace Vehicle Speed Sensor - Where is It

So, I've now spent 30 minutes on two days trying to find the VSS, but I can't find it. I was working from this image, but couldn't find it.

I also tried this one, but didn't see it after using this photo either.



I took the air intake off from the box back to the throttle body; maybe a flashlight would help, though, you'd think that the light at 7:30 would be more than enough.

Anyone have a picture of their engine bay with the VSS circled? It would be a huge help.

on the f22 its almost directly below the tb, its kind of a pain to get to, let me look for a pic

take off your intake piping. look down under the thermostat. it should be right there.

Thermostat is on the front of the block...I think you meant throttle body.

Thermostat is where he says. Its where the lower rad hose goes to.

Go look at your car, the VSS is on the back of the trans, the thermostat is right on the front of the block above the engine code.

That is a fan switch, not thermostat.

ya i need to pay a visit to my VSS were exactly is it located?? under the thermostat u say? BTW thermostat is not in the front man!

Last time I checked, it was on my tranny in the rear on top

one plug, 2 10mm bolts and you're done.

took me 10 minutes to change mine

So I spent about 45 minutes on this last weekend, and couldn't get the damn thing out. There bolt closer to the engine was easily removed, but I could not for the life of me even get a socket on the bolt closer to the right front passenger wheel.

There was something with a rubber boot that ran directly over the top of the sensor, so I couldn't even get the plu disconnected.

I have a 90 LX if that matters?

You gotta have a wobble socket extension, like 12-18 inches would be good

it's pretty much impossible without it

I couldn't get the socket on the bolt, even without the wrench attached. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Like I said before, I got the bolt out closer to the engine using a long extension without any problems.

Was the bolt closest to the fender easy for you to remove?
