there wasn't a rubber boot and something else in the way of reaching the bolt?

what engine and model so you have?

i did mine with no light but a small little flashlight, i left my AEM cold air on and did it. I completely recommend taking off every little vacuum hose, and even remove your coolant lines, you may spill a little but not much. This made it a lot easier once i tucked all of the lines out of the way. Make sure you do not loose your little plunger when putting in the new sensor, or you will be screwed. Be careful removing those bolts on the sensor as well, if you drop them there is a good chance they fell behind the mounting bracked for the sensor just feel around and you might get'em. Just get those vacuum lines and coolant lines out of the way, i used 3 extensions, with no wobble socket, so it is possible. good luck")

OK, I tried again, and still couldn't get to the second bolt. I took some pictures to help explain:First things first; this is the right sensor, correct:

I can't reach the bolt that's shown in white here:

Because, this thing is in the way:

Everyone says this is so easy, what am I missing?

              less than $20 on eBay.

Now, back to the issue at hand...how do I get the bolt out. If I can repalce this myself, I'll do a DIY...I just need someone to tell me how to get the bolt shown in white out

It's been a long time since I did it, but like I said, I used about 18" of extensions that had wobble ends and one of these

and this was early in my mechanical career

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Thanks - I'll try, but I couldn't even get a socket on the bolt, let alone an extension on there.

I suppose a wrench would work. I may give that a try tonight,

It's a pain in the ass but I'm pretty much a professional now

You need a ratchet and a few straight extensions. With them you could just aim down at a straight angle. It's not the hardest part. There's another bolt and for that you need to unscrew.

right, I can reach the long one, but it's the other one that I can't get to. I'll try a wrench tonight and see if that works.

Here. You have to unscrew this part to so that it becomes flexible. Then you'll be able to push it out of the way a little. That's how I did it.

Awesome - thanks! That's what I figured I needed to do, but didn't want to unbolt that thing, not knowing what it is.

                                So what is it? heh!
