    Ac or not...

Today I went outside to work on the cb. I started on the wire tuck, and removed left over ps parts and ac parts.

I havent had a/c since I got the car, but my girl is always hot, i myslf am usualy ok, a little hot but generaly ok. So I ran into a problem, I dont know if I should take out the ac parts under the dash? It would make my wire tuck a lot nicer, and iv delt not having it for all this time.

So should I take it out or not? I was thinking I could get like a civic or something with a/c and use that car. And switching out what car I drive every day and crap. So my girl will be more comfortable and I will be happyer.

My girl's always hot too, but doesn't need the wheather for it

Just kick the a/c out for weight reduction and get a Civic with a/c for her

if its for looks then thats your choice...but i live in the damn heat and without ac i would die..and really doesnt make a differance in performance unless its a strip car so why waste the money on a second car

The weight reduction won't make a noticeable difference. Get the A/C fixed and keep your girl happy. I didnt have A/C either on this car for over two years, but I got it fixed this past spring after I started dating my current girlfriend. No girl I know likes to be sweating her ass off like that. For your happiness, get it fixed.

Say bye bye too Your A/C

How much to fix the A/C? If it's going to cost you to a bunch too get it running I would ditch the crap under the dash as well. If you've gone without it so far F#@k it! It's not like your going to miss it! And if your going to loose your girl because she's to hot in your ride. Just say buh bye

Depends on what's wrong with his A/C system. My compressor had a leak so I needed a new one of those, but it wasnt the generic type, it was the rarer, expensive style. Cost me about $300 for a new compressor, then $400 I think for labor, which is a good deal. Some places in my area wanted $700+ to fix it. However, to validate the warranty of the compressor, I also needed to replace the receiver drier, condensor and expansion valve. It's good to replace that anyway and now my whole system is pretty much brand new. Soo glad i fixed it, I'm spoiled now and love having A/C again.

Thats the thing Im ok not having it but my girl being all sweaty bothers me.

I love the look of a clean engine bay which is one reason I dont want it. It might not way that much and during the winter I could just take the belt off the compressor.

The thing is all I have is the stuff under the dash. The condensor is gone, the evaporator is gone, all the lines. I have the wiring but thats it. I guess I might put it back in along with some 134a if I can find all the stuff I need for cheap.

Is there anyone who has a wire tucked engine bay who still has a/c and it looks nice...One thing I hate about it is every cb iv seen has those lines with all that silver insulation crap that looks like a pice of s&^t.Is there any other insulation that doesnt look bad?

The thing with my style is, I've tried to make my car as luxurious as possible while being sporty at the same time. I needed A/C for that. Depends on your style.

unless you are planning on building a track star then leave it in.
you will not gain any major improvement by taking it off.
if you are that concerned about the compressor drag then throw a few bolt ons to make up the .5 to 2hp loss.

plus its a lifesaver if you live anywhere that gets over 90degrees outside.

can we please leave the lame-ass acronyms out?? please?

i had to google QTF cuz the last fucking thing i was thinking this stood for was: "QUOTED FOR TRUTH"
who the fuck even says shit like that in the first place??
maybe some ancient scholars or smart rappers or something.

it makes us all look retarded when we type this crap.

our acronyms should be left to terms like VTEC, TPS, IAB, IACV and the like.

i feel a bit stupider everytime i read that shit.
