I've been having a lot of trouble with finding a good gasket for the h22 header where the header meets the downpipe in the middle. As i've searched through threads on a fix it seems many others have been having the same problem where the gasket blows apart. Its like a thin sheet of cardboard covered in cheap $0.99 aluminum foil.
What i've found that works is a gasket from a company called hedman hedders. Their gasket is clearly of a different quality. From just holding it and looking at it you'll notice the differences which is that for one the gasket is hard and not really pliable like the cheap ebay gaskets. Another difference you'll notice is that its made of a metal mesh with some type of solid material molded around it. I've had it on for 2 weeks and no problems as of yet which is usually long enough for me to tell if its going to leak or not.
So.... I ordered mine for about $20 shipped from summit racing but after googleing it i saw other places had it for slightly cheaper. I ordered a downpipe gasket for a regular usdm h22 prelude. I currently have an ebay header as well as a fgk jasma header and test fitted the gasket on both and they fit the same. The problem is however that when you initially fit the gasket on you see that the two bottom holes (or the two that would be closest to the block) line up perfect with the gasket but the one hole out in front does not line up. What i did to make it fit was cut out a triangle shaped piece around the hole that doesnt line up on the gasket so that the gasket still fits the other two bolts, goes correctly around the downpipes but does not go out front where the odd bolt would be.
After cutting that small section of gasket out i covered both sides in the orange high temp rtv sealant and installed the header and gasket. The sealant says it needs an hour to dry and 24hrs to fully cure but i drove after 2hrs of installation and still no leaks.

I hope this helps a bunch of peeps out because i was tired of getting high off exhaust fumes on long drives.
