try using a dremel to trim the excess metal on the bar.

cut the bar. Mine was cut to fit my infinity 6x9s and I didn't know it until I actually looked at the bar.

I dont own a grinder/sander, and i dunno if i can rent such a tool. Thought about swinging by my local shop and seeing if they could hit it with something for a minute.

Trimming the ends of the trunk springs will not affect their operation at all. The torsion pressure is in the length between the two bends running across the width of the trunk. I had used an air ziz-wheel to trim them to fit my 6x9 Kenwood Excelons about 7 years ago. The only thing I f'd up was not protecting the rear windshield from the showering sparks the ziz-wheel caused. Cut away and fit your speakers. No worries.

That'd be safer, but i dont know how difficult it is to remove them..

I did what everyone said NOT to do and i cut like an inch off the end.

It DIDNT take out my eyeball.
It DIDNT weaken the bars.



I never REMOVED the entire bar setup, like i think youre wanting to do, i just shaved some off the end. If they dont bolt off brackets, then, IDK.
