    oil covered spark plugs

I pulled out my plug wires and noticed that i had oil on all of my spark plugs, i have been getting about 26mpg like this. I was wondering once i replace the wires and spark plug tube seals if i would get better gas milegae. If anybody has came across the same situation let me know. Im sure that im not getting the most efficient combustion like this

    thx.

      Its the tube seals.

Just recently did mine and a VC gasket. And plugs/wires and I havent seen a change in mileage.

i think the lower tube seals need to get changed, not the upper ones......

the lower ones require you to do a valve lash also which isn't something i was comfortable with so i had a way more experienced mechanic do it for me.

did a valve lash, changed the tube seals. good now! also gapped my plugs they were way off. One was .020 the rest were a little above .050

Yeah change your lower tube seals. Its not hard, I did it.
                    lemme find a link here...
I'd say it really won't change your mpg.

BTW. Ask for the FELPRO valve cover gasket kit from autozone. Its around $26 and has everything you need.

I got OEM honda ones from the dealer, it was like 3 bucks a tube seal for the lowers since my VCG and upper grommets were fine. Trust me, Honda Rubber is FAR superior to the Autozone crap.

wrong, if you pull the assembly off and dont change any of the settings it wont alter anything.

i just did the lower tube seals on my project car and none of my lashes changed. i actually wasted my time because im going to put a cam in there.
