i have this same exact problem, didnt know if i had an o-ring or not. but im planning on replacing the fuel pressure sending unit, heard that this can lead to oil leaks.
my oil is also dripping where the tranny meets oil pan, and its dripping onto my downpipe, causing lots of SMOKE!!!!!!! i changed my oil pan gasket and it did no help.

oil pan gasket...
The oil pan gasket is a PITA!!! (at least it was for me) so that could possibly still be the issue.
How high up is the oil (is it above the flywheel cover) if so then you need to look higher.
This is me going out on a limb here but if you think it is something other then motor oil, and it is most likely not transmission oil (closed system kinda hard to leak unless recently messed with) then you might want to look at the power steering lines that run to that area. I think two soft lines actually connect to something on the engine around there. This would explain the odd look of it. But this is just me thinking out loud
plus I think those lines are too far to the passenger side for this leak
