    coolant sensor dillema.

    Okay,

Throws a code 6 which is ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor). I have replaced the one on the waterneck, and the other single wire one (cost me $50). The engine started to overheat so I changed the thermostat, still overheats. I still get a code 6, and I've swapped all my old sensors into the new engine (which never threw a single code at me). I'm puzzled. Going to search. If you've had this same issue, what did you do to resolve it?

    Thanks,

sounds to me like you got your wires mixed up. I assuming that you just did a motor swap. If so then double check and make sure that the 3 temp plugs are in the right spot. get ure manual out and check the wire colors out on the front and rear water necks and the sensor under the dizzy.

The CTS is right under the dizzy. It goes into the head. Its two wire. The water neck sensor you changed is the AC fan switch. Recheck the way you wired em.

          According to this: http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/g...3d800d0ddd.gif

I had the wrong plug onto the thermostat coolant sensor. I just need to make sure the other one goes to the thermostat now :/

My apologies. That was it guys. The two plugs were swapped. Just need to run it to see if it overheats still. The code 6 is gone. Throwing a code 41 now because the O2 sensor isn't hooked up. Thanks!
