    Power steering pump

Ok yesterday started the car after leaving a store. I heard a very funny sound from the engine bay. Like a loud whining sound, also sounded like grinding. Went to the mechanic and the noise stopped, so he couldnt say much. I have noticed the steering being lil tough. So i went to work and we look at the power steering fluid, it was very low. Sound went away a bit. But i still hear it on start up, not as loud though. U think the pump is bad now? What are the signs

    Sounds like the P/S belt.

Check the tension on the belt.

apparently im leaking fluid though...and im getting CRAZY sounds from the
engine bay, looks like rubber hitting rubber, but the tension on my belt
      is perfectly fine.
