check engine light switch

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to put a switch on that check engine light plug b'cuz I have a female plug but no male and before I start spending i want know what my problems are.

Why don't you just use a paper clip and jump the connector? It would be cheaper.

two reasons why it wont work i dont have steady hands and my plug dont have slots to put the paper clip in

cut off the plug and splice the two wires together whenever you need to check your cels.

or buy yourself a toggle switch, cut the plug off and wire it to the switch.

LOL this is funny when I spun a rod bearing on the F I got a check engine light so I pulled over to check it. I didnt have a paper clip or anything at the time.I did though have a knife. I just cut off the connector and wired them together to check the light...

I have 2 unused switches on my bezel...acctualy 3 now that I took out the neon...I need more accesories

this is really ghetto but I took apart my speedo and placed a piece of paper towel, plugging up the light and placing the cover over it so its not visible lol

lol i did that same shit with the check engine light in my 97 protege(protegay) but i used electrical tape
