    Little Intake box beside Battery.

I looked at a few of my Friends CArs and they have a little Plastic Box with a hose going to the Intake Manifold or w/e the intake hooks up too..

mine doesn't have it. i see where it was removed or something.

mines a a1 idk if they came with a1 in the first place

whats its purpose? because my friends got one and he might sell it
    to me.

Heres a pic of whats left of mine... Nothing lol

i mean does it affect anything if mine doesn't have it? my friend said it does
that's why i wanna buy his and install it on mine but i can't even find the little wire hardness that hooks up to it..

I seriously doubt it does anything. I mean since you now have that port blocked off, its no longer functionable. I took mine out and left the thing unplugged.

You do not need the little box since you have a short ram.

It's just a little vacuum controlled device the opens the butterfly valve to the lower intake box at a certain rpm or when you got WOT. Or something to the effect.

I think its for noise suppression to make the stock intake quieter or something like

nah its like the guy above mentioned...

its to provide for the "low end torque" and high the flow power in the upper rpms.

No you don't That box is completely fucking worth less when you are not running stock air box.

No it has nothing to do with hp or torque, It opens a flap which goes makes the intake go threw the resonator behind the bumper to keep it quiet.
                  wat?

well Im not sure what hose are you talking about in that 1st pic, if your talking about the blocked off plug, its for a valve on the EX intake system. its to make it quiter at idle. LXs/DXs dont have them.

Did you not read my post?
It is worthless on you car. You have a short ram intake. If you want to install the part by all means go ahead if it will make you happy. =)

yeah it's only a intake valve to open up the second runner on the stock airbox. As such, not having the stock airbox makes it completely worthless.

Cliffs notes version: Just take that worthless shit out, it's a waste of space. Block off the vacuum, being the cheap bastard i am i did it with a ziptie, and shoved it behind the vacuum black box. I'll buy caps one of these days.
