    how do I?

this question is for anyone who has built a dohc vtec engine be it an h22, or b series.

ok im wondering how i wouold be able to check the piston to valve clearance in vtec or do i even have to? i clayed the engine as it sits and theres a good 1\8- 1\4 inch of clearance, and thats with the flat faced h22 valves which sit a tad further out then stock f20b valves.

    thanks

I think you have to lock in vtec and check the clearance that way

dont clearance measurements measure in degrees not inches ? not to be on top of you but just for my own personal research

Use the air method and clay the motor. Lock the motor in vtec and then clay it. If you are using stock cams now and want to upgrade later take your clayed measurments and compare them with the total lift of the new cam.

ok yea I had planned on claying the engine again once i swap out the cams for the jun ones since no one knows the real specs of jun's cams lol. I also have another question if anyone knows this now that ive had my block milled .020 how far advanced or retarded do i change the cam timing or do i at all?

once i find out i have it all timed in correctly that will be a huge weight lifted and i can finish putting the last bits on and then put the clutch on and trans, and mounts, and put the harness back on, then finally drop her in
