so you said you put in an H22 motor....
more than likely you need a new coolant tempature sensor, and/or thermostat.
may sound dumb, but CHECK YOUR COOLANT LEVEL!

i never had this problem it just happend. im full of coolant and if it's the sensor shouldnt a check engine light be on and also i had a connection problem before where i had to spice some wires and reconnect them for one of my coolant temperature sensors with that being said when that wire was loose my check engine light was on and i had no vtec. any other ideas?

Check the one wire senor below your dizzy. If everything is connected fine. Then either
A: Your five dollar senor took a dump
              or
B: Your thermostat is stuck open.

I would replace the 5 dollar peice first.

Listen to this guy, as he said if your wiring to that 1-wire coolant sensor under dizzy base is fine then do the above A & B steps.

Thermostat is about $15 by the way.

So you really have a cheap fix either way. Good luck and get it done.

agreed, i ripped mine out when i was doing my headswap so it runs all faulty for me like if i hit a series of bumps the needle will drop and then come back up.

when it disconnects no CEL comes on either.
